This past weekend was a great opening weekend for our sport of Track & Field. Below we highlight three athletes that had great performances to start their 2018 season.
* Jaylan Mitchell (North Carolina A&T)- He sped to a World Leading 6.60 in the 60 meter dash at the Clemson Orange & Purple Invitational. To run this time this early in the season has put the nation on alert that Mr. Mitchell is to be reckoned with.
** Nathon Strother (University of Tennessee)- The Senior made his 400 meter dash debut at the 2018 Indiana v Tennessee Duals in Bloomington, Indiana. He won the race with a winning time of 46.45. We look for him to improve on this performance.
*** Kyle Garland- Mr. Garland came to handle business at The 24th US Army Hispanic Games at The Armory this past weekend. He won the 55 Meter Hurdle race with a US Army Hispanic Game record breaking performance of 7.28. He also won the High Jump with a height of 6’8”. The Georgia Bulldogs are getting a special talent.
